How the Beading Began

My liking for bracelet making started at the end of 2022 when at the hospital we would receive a lot of donations of toys to give out to our patients for the holidays. There was this kit called "Little Fashionista" that was left behind. It was a quie- shift (God forbid I say or type this word out loud, my fellow nurses will understand), my friend and I decided we wanted to do a little arts & crafts. There was this GIRL POWER beaded bracelet project in the kit, we made 2 bracelets, one for me (GRL) and for my friend (PWR), no vowels because we were cool... We would wear the bracelet proudly during our shifts for the rest of the week.

We had a pretty bad year, so we decided that started 2023, we would channel the LUCKY GIRL ENERGY (LGE) by saying this phrase at the beginning of every shift. "We're so lucky, everything always works out for us" We started to get more and more colleague to believe in this phrase (yes, nurses are superstitious lol). I bought a small kit of beads and I made a bracelet for every colleague of mine because God knows we needed all the luck on our side to fight the short staff, no lunch break, no toilet break and the screaming children. Lucky girl energy worked for a while before it was trumped by our fatigue and pessimism triumphed lol

Then came the battle for Taylor Swift's concert tickets so I was thinking, hey why not make lucky girl energy bracelet, Taylor Swift version? ;)
